Maybe one sentence caught your attention:

“The Gospel is not self-help.”

Maybe it was this:

“You cannot rehabilitate Adam.”

Or perhaps this:

“Faith is resting entirely in what Christ has already accomplished.”

Whatever caught your attention, we hope you'll stay long enough to explore the question behind those statements.

Because this is what Born Saved is about.

The Gospel begins with Christ—not with you.

Christianity is not God giving fallen humanity a better set of instructions and telling us to try harder.

It is not:

“Become good enough.”

It is not:

“Fix yourself so God will accept you.”

And it is not the rehabilitation of Adam.

Something far greater happened.

God did not merely send someone to die in our place.

God came to us.

Christ became one with us.

He entered our humanity.

He stood where Adam stood.

He joined Himself to the race He came to save.

He entered our condemnation.

He died our death.

He rose again, carrying humanity with Him into new life.

And in Christ, God began something new.

That is the Gospel.

The question we want to explore is not simply, “What does God want me to do?”

It is first:

“What has God already done in Christ?”

That question changes everything.

Why does that matter to you?

Because if salvation begins with what you must accomplish, then you will spend your life wondering whether you have done enough.

But if salvation begins with what Christ has accomplished, then faith takes on an entirely different meaning.

Faith is not finishing Christ's work.

Faith is not persuading God to love you.

Faith is not adding something to the Cross.

Faith stops trying to save itself and rests in Christ.

Faith believes the good news.

And that is why Jesus could say:

“It is finished” (John 19:30).

Finished means something happened at the Cross.

Something was accomplished.

Something was established.

Something was settled.

And our purpose here is to open Scripture and discover exactly what that something was.

WE WANT TO ASK THE HARD QUESTIONS

What did Christ actually accomplish for humanity?

What does it mean that God reconciled the world to Himself?

Why does Paul describe Christ as the Second Adam?

What does righteousness by faith really mean?

Why does God's goodness lead us to repentance?

What does it mean to enter God's rest?

Why does Scripture describe faith as resting?

Why does the Bible speak about judgment?

What does the ancient sanctuary have to do with the Gospel?

And why does the Day of Atonement matter to Christians today?

These aren't questions we want to answer by simply telling you what to believe.

We want to open the Bible.

We want to examine the text.

We want to follow the story.

And we want to keep asking one question:

Where is Christ in all of this?

Yes, you'll find our books here.

But the books are not the destination.

Christ is.

The books simply give us more room to explore questions that cannot be answered in a pamphlet.

And this blog will give us the opportunity to keep opening those questions—one at a time.

Some posts will be short.

Some will go much deeper.

Some may challenge ideas you've held for years.

And some may simply make you stop and open your Bible for yourself.

That's exactly what we hope they do.

You don't have to agree with us.

You don't have to accept our conclusions because we wrote them.

Search the Scriptures.

Ask questions.

Think.

Read the passages in context.

And above all, look for Christ.

Because the Gospel isn't ultimately about becoming a better version of Adam.

It is about discovering what God has done in Christ.

One Gospel.

One Savior.

One finished work.
